Vianchiarezza comes from Friuli, specifically from Cividale. The region is located in the far northeast of Italy near the border with Slovenia. Winemaker Luca Caporale works organically and makes white and red wines from both local and international grapes. Friulano is the most important indigenous white grape of Friuli. Just across the border with Slovenia, we also find the variety, but under the names zeleni sauvignon and sauvignonasse. Friulano is somewhat reminiscent of sauvignon, but is fuller in taste and body, the aromas leaning more towards white peach and almonds. As Luca describes it: a wine for Prosciutto di San Daniele and ideal for perfectionists. Top-notch Italy, open top Friuli!

Snelle levering
Onlangs had ik het genoegen de **Venchiarezza Friulano Vigna del Tempo 2023** te proeven, een biologische wijn uit Friuli Venezia Giulia. De strogele kleur met gouden tinten viel direct op. In de neus ontdekte ik subtiele aroma's van witte perzik, saffraan en tijm. Bij het proeven ervaarde ik een goed gestructureerde wijn met een mooie balans tussen fruitigheid en zuren. De ziltige ondertoon en de karakteristieke amandelafsluiting maakten de smaakbeleving compleet. Deze wijn combineerde uitstekend met witte visgerechten en de lokale ham uit San Daniele. Een ware expressie van de Friulano-druif en de toewijding van wijnmaker Luca Caporale aan biologische wijnbouw.
